Wosler at Alhambra Venture 2025: Digital Health for a Tourism Industry That Doesn’t Improvise

From June 30 to July 2, Granada hosts a new edition of Alhambra Venture, the leading startup investment event in Southern Europe. And this year, Wosler has been selected as one of the finalist startups.

Our participation is more than just good news for the team. It’s an opportunity to shine a light on a real challenge in today’s tourism industry: the lack of fast, reliable, and accessible medical solutions for travelers visiting Spain.

What is Alhambra Academy, and who is participating in 2025?

Alhambra Academy is a pre-event acceleration program designed to help finalist startups take the stage in Granada with a strong pitch, a clear strategy, and real chances of securing investment or strategic partnerships.

The startups pitching at Alhambra Venture 2025 as part of the Academy include Wosler, Aplanet, Atenea Infinite Education, Aunoa, Aurea Pay, Baboon, Bcome, Bioair, Blue Bamboo, Cardiomense, Cienciaterapia, Cubelizer, Devengo, Duponte, Ecomagnet, Endurance Motive, Fiiixit, Gate2Brain, GPAINNOVA, Internxt, Kerma, Kriba, Kuvu, Labsinlove, Meep, Nware, Stayforlong, Voicit, Weguest, and Youforget.me.

All of them were chosen for their innovation, scalability, and potential to impact sectors such as healthcare, mobility, AI, sustainability, tourism, and cybersecurity.

Wosler will present its pitch during the official round, alongside these projects, to investors specializing in health, travel, wellbeing, and digitalization.

The structural challenge of tourism: Who steps in when health becomes an issue?

Spain welcomes over 85 million international tourists every year, making it one of the most visited countries in the world. But that number, while impressive, puts real pressure on the public healthcare system and on the people managing the tourist experience.

Hospitals and emergency rooms are increasingly overwhelmed—especially in coastal areas and popular tourist cities. Mild issues like fevers, diarrhea, or muscle pain—problems that could be easily solved—end up using critical resources simply because there’s no system in place to support tourists in a clear and preventive way.

This is made worse by the lack of medical protocols in hotels, agencies, and tour operators: emergency calls without context, improvised translations, and overwhelmed staff trying to help without any training. Meanwhile, the traveler feels confused. What should have been a smooth trip turns into stress, dissatisfaction… and sometimes, a negative review.

Wosler fills that gap with a concrete solution: digital medical assistance that not only resolves problems in minutes, but also reduces pressure on the public system, organizes the tourism sector’s response, and promotes a more responsible and sustainable model.

Because this isn’t just about treating a patient. It’s about building a structure where health is part of innovation, efficiency, and care for the environment.

From emergency rooms to responsible tourism: How Wosler began

Wosler didn’t start as a business idea on paper. It was born from real-life medical practice.

Our founder, Dr. Gabriel Rivas—an emergency and public health physician—saw the same issue repeatedly: tourists arriving at clinics not knowing what to do, not speaking the language, and without any local support.

That real need gave way to Wosler: a digital medical solution that connects travelers to qualified health professionals—immediately, in their own language, and from anywhere in Spain. No apps. No delays. No complicated steps.

From day one, Wosler set out to bring value on three levels:

  • Improve the traveler’s experience.
  • Reduce the strain on the healthcare system.
  • Support the evolution of tourism towards a more sustainable model.

In 2024, we were recognized at Web Summit Lisbon for our impact in digital health and sustainability. In 2025, our work was also featured at FITUR, where we introduced Spain’s first preventive health chatbot for travelers—offering personalized medical guidance to thousands of visitors.

Wosler is constantly evolving. We listen to users, analyze data, and improve our service—because real innovation grows with the world around it.

A medical solution made for real-world tourism

At Wosler, we believe a health issue shouldn’t disrupt a trip—or overload the staff trying to manage it.

That’s why we designed a solution that acts immediately, works from any location, and adapts to the tourism operation without friction.

✅ Average response time: 15 minutes
✅ No app needed: Access via website or QR code
✅ Consultations with bilingual doctors (Spanish/English)
✅ Digital prescriptions valid across Spain
✅ Referrals to nearby centers when in-person care is needed
✅ AI-powered triage to assess the situation quickly

We’ve already assisted over 1,500 tourists and work with more than 80 tourism companies—from hotels to DMCs—that chose to make health a core part of the experience they offer.

Why Alhambra Venture matters to Wosler

Participating in Alhambra Venture is another step forward for us. We’re coming with a live solution, proven results, and a clear purpose: to transform how health is approached in tourism.

This event is a chance to build partnerships with investors and key stakeholders who share our vision: a tourism industry that’s more humane, more efficient, and backed by smart infrastructure.

We’re looking to connect with platforms, insurance providers, tourism groups, and public or private institutions.

Organizations that understand traveler health isn’t an extra—it’s essential for a safe, high-quality, and professional experience.

Because what we offer isn’t just technology. It’s a way to respond better, care more, and collaborate with the entire ecosystem.

More than a final: A step toward safer travel

Being a finalist at Alhambra Venture is a great opportunity. But our goal goes beyond recognition.

At Wosler, we work so that anyone traveling across Spain can do so with the peace of mind that a healthcare professional is always within reach—no stress, no waiting, no language barriers.

And so that tourism businesses don’t have to improvise, risk their reputation, or overwhelm their teams every time a health issue arises.

Because a smarter kind of tourism is built with prevention, collaboration, and a true commitment to the people who make it possible.
